This book is a great way to understand how meditation can be part of our lives, without renouncing anything.

Honestly, I hardly read non-fiction or self-help books, but this book by Author Sanjay Gupta kept me hooked because of the simplicity it holds in explaining the various stages and forms of yoga and meditation. It gave me a huge sense of calmness while reading.

The book has 11 chapters in total, which will walk you through the beginning of or the ancient roots of, how yoga and meditation, which are like sisters on this path, came into existence. The book has various biblical references, original excerpts drawn from mythology, and from various existing voluminous books that teach yoga and meditation. But what I loved about the Author is that he has broken down the steps of learning meditation to its benefits to the body, soul and mind into simpler steps and from the understanding of a layman and for the layman itself.

Nowhere in the book do you feel bored, because you will feel that the Author is holding your hand, talking to you while he walks you gently through each chapter, explaining every detail with examples, references, and from his own experiences.

I have always been keen on how people attain the Samadhi state through meditation, and Sanjay Gupta has explained that too, and some of his experiences of having tasted it partially. His own experience of having tasted the fruit of meditation was the chapter that took me by surprise. I wanted to know more of his such encounters with that omnipotent energy; I guess I will have to wait for his next book, now.

I highly recommend the book to those who are looking for easy step-by-step guidance in the simplest language; must grab it today. Trust me, after reading it, you will find the crux to be the most amazing: that you don’t have to give up on your present lifestyle or materialistic things, so to say, at all. It will be more like training your mind to be peaceful while still existing amidst all the chaos.
